The RoleWe are looking for a passionate, creative, and dedicated Chinese Language Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging Mandarin Chinese lessons aligned with the IB PYP framework and prepare students for internationally recognised proficiency examinations.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver high-quality Mandarin Chinese lessons within the IB PYP transdisciplinary framework, supporting Units of Inquiry where applicable.
Prepare students for HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) and YCT (Youth Chinese Test) examinations at the appropriate levels.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of native, near-native, and non-native Chinese learners.
Integrate the IB Learner Profile attributes and Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills into daily practice.
Assess student progress using PYP assessment strategies (formative, summative, and student-led) and maintain accurate records.
Collaborate with homeroom teachers and specialists to make meaningful transdisciplinary connections.
Contribute to the school's language policy and promote multilingualism across the learning community.
Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and well-being.
Participate in school events, professional development, and collaborative planning sessions.
RequirementsChinese nationality
Bachelor's degree in Chinese Language, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Recognised teaching qualification or certification.
Demonstrated experience teaching Mandarin Chinese to primary-aged students.
Familiarity with or certification in administering HSK and YCT examinations.
Understanding of the IB Primary Years Programme philosophy, practices, and standards.
Strong classroom management skills and a student-centred teaching approach.
Excellent communication skills in both Mandarin Chinese and English.
