Primary Hungarian Language Teacher
Budapest British International School (BBIS) is a growing IB World School seeking a passionate, flexible and experienced Primary Hungarian Language Teacher to join our dynamic team.
The successful candidate will teach Hungarian as a first language to native and near-native speakers, delivering engaging and purposeful language learning aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and relevant Hungarian developmental outcomes.
We are looking for a teacher who:
Has proven experience teaching Hungarian as a first language in a Primary setting. Can plan and deliver innovative, inquiry-based lessons that engage students and respond to diverse learning needs.
Creates a positive, inclusive classroom environment where students feel confident to communicate, inquire and grow.
Is able to integrate Hungarian language learning meaningfully into PYP Units of Inquiry and wider curriculum learning.
Has a strong understanding of developing reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.
Uses a range of engaging approaches, including literature, drama, media and project-based learning.
Works collaboratively with year-level teams and contributes positively to the wider school community.
Can assess and report on student progress in line with both BBIS expectations and relevant Hungarian requirements.
Communicates effectively with students, colleagues and families in both Hungarian and English.
Demonstrates a genuine commitment to the IB philosophy and to professional learning and development.
