About this role
Main Accountabilities:
At SISC, it is the role of a teacher to teach a class of up to 25 students depending on the grade level. Students in grades 1 to 5 will be taught based on the Cambridge Primary Curriculum Framework.
A teacher must:
● Have a solid understanding of the Cambridge International curriculum standards and have experience closing the achievement gap
● Develop engaging and innovative lessons that allow our students to grow academically, socially and emotionally
● Incorporate technology and hands-on learning experiences into the classroom with enthusiasm
● Believe in collaboration with other colleagues and promotes understanding and communication in a diverse learning and cultural environment
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
● Deliver dynamic and effective lessons to nurture students’ desire to learn
● Achieve the learning goals of the Cambridge International Curriculum through the content and structure of the curriculum and its methods of delivery
● Design and implement a comprehensive and appropriately sequenced learning program for students, reflecting current pedagogical practice and individual playing standard
● Create daily lesson plans and learning activities for students based on national, local and school standards in education and research and knowledge of developmental behaviors
● Planning and implementation of cross curricular learning and teaching
● Deliver high-quality, engaging instruction in the form of discussion, direct teaching, demonstrations and independent practice using a variety of proven methods
● Differentiate lessons when needed to give all students access to the curriculum regardless of disability, instructional level, English proficiency or level of interest in the subject
● Create an environment of active and genuine learning by employing a range of teaching strategies that meet the needs of all students
