The successful candidate will teach Cambridge Primary First Language English, delivering rigorous and structured English instruction that builds strong literacy foundations, confident communication, and critical thinking skills. The role also includes responsibilities as a homeroom teacher, supporting students’ pastoral care, wellbeing, and personal development. This position is suited to an educator who can teach First Language English to students for whom English is a second language, while maintaining high academic expectations and fostering a supportive, respectful classroom community. Key Responsibilities Academic Responsibilities Teach Cambridge Primary First Language English across the Primary years, in line with Cambridge curriculum expectations and progression frameworks. Plan and deliver intentional, well-structured English lessons that develop reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Teach First Language English effectively to students for whom English is a second language, using appropriate scaffolding while maintaining academic rigour. Develop students’ skills in phonics, reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, writing structure, and extended written expression. Use formative and summative assessment to monitor progress and inform differentiation and targeted support. Provide clear, constructive feedback to support continuous improvement in English language and literacy skills.
