Oakleigh is a brand-new independent SEND primary school for up to 30 children aged 4–11, opening in Autumn 2026 (subject to DfE and Ofsted approval). Part of the outstanding Undershaw Education Trust, Oakleigh will provide small classes of up to 8 pupils, high staffing ratios, and a nurturing, highly specialist environment for children with SLCN, Developmental Delay, significant learning needs, and/or ASC.
The school will open initially with one class group, growing carefully and intentionally over the coming years to full capacity. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a founding team and to shape outstanding practice from the very beginning.
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled SEND Class Teacher to join us at this exciting stage.
As a Class Teacher at Oakleigh, you will:
Deliver consistently high-quality teaching tailored to complex and diverse needs
Create a calm, structured and nurturing classroom where every child feels safe and understood
Design and adapt a personalised curriculum
Work closely with teaching assistants and the wider team to ensure the highest standards of support
Contribute to the development of the school as it grows from one class to a full provision

A practitioner who demonstrates outstanding classroom practice for pupils with complex needs
Someone confident in adapting teaching for a wide range of profiles including SLCN, ASC and developmental delay
