Pre-Supported Internship and Learning for Life Lecturer

Are you an exceptional SEND teacher looking for a role where you can genuinely transform young people’s futures? We are seeking a passionate, skilled and creative SEND Lecturer to join our highly inclusive and ambitious Pre-Supported Internship Programme for young adults aged 18–25 with Education, Health and Care Plans. This is a unique opportunity to support students as they begin preparing for adulthood and the world of work. Learners attend college for four days each week and participate in one day of supported work experience, developing independence, employability and confidence within real workplace environments. You will work with an inspiring cohort of young adults with a wide range of needs including autism, Down syndrome, moderate and severe learning difficulties, communication needs and complex learning profiles. The role requires someone who believes passionately in inclusion, high aspirations and preparing learners for meaningful adult lives. No two days are ever the same. One day you may be teaching employability skills, travel training or preparation for work, while the next you could be supporting students in workplace settings, developing personalised curriculum content or celebrating a learner achieving something they never thought possible. We are looking for someone who: • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) • Has strong experience teaching learners with SEND aged 16–25 • Understands the needs of learners with autism, learning disabilities and complex SEND profiles • Is confident in curriculum design, differentiation and creative delivery • Has high expectations alongside warmth, patience and flexibility • Has an excellent sense of humour and enjoys working as part of a close, supportive team • Can build positive relationships with students, families and employers • Has experience delivering Functional Skills English and Maths (desirable) Why join Haringey 6th Form?
