JOB PURPOSE
To support the Head of Department in the leadership and teaching of Physics at Key Stage 4 GCSE Physics and GCSE Combined (Physics) and Key Stage 5 A Level Physics to ensure high standards of teaching and learning and high standards of student attainment.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsible to the Head of Department – Science
1. To be responsible for the development, evaluation and modification of Key Stage 4 GCSE Physics, GCSE Combined Science (Physics) and Key Stage 5 A Level Physics Schemes of Work.
2. To provide leadership, guidance, and professional development for all teachers delivering Key Stage 5 A Level Physics, Key Stage 4 GCSE Physics and GCSE Combined Science (Physics), including non-specialists teaching Key Stage 3 physics. Offer regular performance feedback to colleagues and ensure that high expectations are consistently maintained across the department.
3. To monitor student performance at Key Stage 5 A Level Physics, providing analysis, recommendations ad strategies for raising attainment for the Head of Department and complete Key Stage 5 A Level Physics RAMs.
4. Develop and implement evidence-based, impactful strategies across all key stages to support high standards of student attainment and progress in public examinations. Share research-informed best practices within the Science department, with a particular focus on Physics, and collaborate effectively with other Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 post holde
