Physical Sensory Lead Teaching Assistant

Are you a talented support assistant looking for a new challenge? MLHA are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual with appropriate training to support the needs of a child with significant medical needs. The successful candidate will work one to one with the child both supporting their medical needs and assisting with their access to the curriculum. This role will be part of our highly successful foundation stage provision, and the successful candidate will join our skilled and dedicated team of Early Years professionals. The successful candidate should demonstrate they are able:- • To work under the guidance of teaching staff and senior Early Years practitioners to support the care and education of young children. • To contribute to play-based learning experiences and care routines that promote children’s development, independence, and well-being. • To support individual and small group activities both indoors and outdoors, helping children to access and engage in the Early Years curriculum. Key areas of responsibility include: • Build positive relationships with children, acting as a caring role model and responding to individual needs. • Work with all staff to create and maintain a safe, stimulating and nurturing learning environment. • To use specialist (curricular/learning) skills/training/experience to support children • To prepare and tidy the classroom and resources for daily activities, and assist with displays of children’s work, working within a team. • Support children’s personal care needs, including hygiene, toileting, mealtimes, first aid and overall wellbeing. • To support the movement and handling of students with disabilities. • Provide one-to-one and small group support, including delivery of planned learning and play activities.
