Job Title:Physical Education Teacher
Job Purpose:Provide excellent music lessons and learning opportunities for all students so that every child has the opportunity to reach their potential in music.
Reporting to:MYP or PYP Co-ordinator
Other key relationships:Other teachers in the Primary School and Upper School, parents and students.
Length of Contract:Two Years
Salary:Competitive, to be agreed.
Purpose of Job:
Provide excellent PE lessons and learning opportunities for all students so that every child has the opportunity to reach their potential in music. The PE Teacher will be responsible for teaching Physical Education to students in Grades 1-5 or G6-9 and assists the staff of the school in the improvement and appreciation of P.E. Enable students grow in their enjoyment, appreciation, and performance of P.E. through a variety of planned experiences which include sports day, after school clubs, sports competitions listening and other duties directly related to this job description.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
· Plan and deliver excellent, engaging, challenging lessons based on the agreed JTIS International Curriculum and the IB PYP or MYP Curriculum.
· Use excellent P.E. knowledge and pedagogy to support student learning.
· Teach a wide repertoire of sports, including traditional and contemporary that are appropriate for the ages and skill levels of students.
· Differentiate P.E. curriculum to meet the needs of the individual student and Grades.
· Evaluate each student’s physical growth and athletic ability.
· Use supportive, positive classroom management strategies to ensure excellent behaviour by students that allows learning to flourish.
· Use formative assessment to design and structure lessons that help students reach their potential.
· Implement inquiry-based and engaging instructional P.E. lessons that encourage student curiosity and continued improvement.
· Providing timely feedback to students so that they understand how to practice at home.
