About this role

We are seeking to appoint an individual to work within the Pastoral Team supporting student wellbeing. This support is likely to include working with a caseload of students, either on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, offering intervention to support improvements in attitude, confidence and well-being, as well as working with other parties or agencies, including parents.    Good communication, ICT skills, a high level of literacy and numeracy are desirable for the post, however, it is more important for the successful candidate to show empathy, resilience, initiative, and dedication to our students. Experience of working in a teaching/child support environment is desirable but not essential as training and guidance will be provided.   Main responsibilities:   The successful candidate will work within a team and be part of our wider safeguarding team.   Work in conjunction with the Pastoral Team to develop a whole School Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy to include student and staff wellbeing   To work as part of the team that responds to student needs primarily around wellbeing, behaviour and provide pastoral support to these students   To work with the pastoral team in supporting students in seclusion and reset  Provide evidence-based interventions for students to improve their emotional health and wellbeing   Plan and deliver group sessions on agreed topics related to wellbeing, positive mental health and behaviour (e.g. mindfulness, resilience, anxiety management).   Train and work with the student Wellbeing Ambassadors   Lead and support students group e.g. Pride group  To liaise with staff, parents and relevant outside agencies to provide appropriate intervention for students experiencing difficulties   To liaise with support staff and teachers to share strategies for support around emotional health and wellbeing   To develop strong links between the school and families in order to improve educational opportunities for students and to promote a
