Pastoral Support Officer

We are looking for a Pastoral Support Officer to join our team. The pastoral team at Wolsingham School is a strong, forward-thinking group of dedicated teachers and support staff, committed to fostering a culture of care, high expectations, and clear standards. We believe in the power of de-escalation, positive values and restorative conversations, and we are fully aligned with our school ethos and values. Our aim is to provide high-quality, knowledgeable, and compassionate pastoral support to all students. We are committed to promoting wellbeing, engagement, and personal development, empowering students to take responsibility for their actions and to reach their full potential. Working closely with staff, students, families, and external agencies, we strive to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and understood. Our role involves responding to a wide range of social, emotional, and behavioural needs within a fast-paced and often challenging context, always with consistency, care, and professionalism. We uphold and consistently apply the school’s pastoral systems and behaviour policies, while building strong, positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers. The pastoral faculty plays a vital role both in and beyond the classroom, supporting students in all aspects of school life and helping them to thrive as confident, responsible individuals.
