Pastoral Support Manager
Required for September 2026
36 hours per week
Term Time plus two weeks
Point 20 – 24 (£33,180 - £35,620 actual salary)
We are looking to appoint a Pastoral Support Manager to lead the administration of the pastoral team.
This is a new role and as the pastoral support manager you will work closely with other members of the pastoral team to ensure that the pastoral operational needs of the school are met.
You will lead a team of staff ensuring that they carry out their day-to-day pastoral duties effectively, including monitoring attendance, punctuality, behaviour and mentoring support.
You will triage day-to-day issues, ensuring that Heads of Learning (HOL) and senior leaders are informed as necessary and that you act on their advice or their decisions.
You will need to ensure that the pastoral team produce accurate records and be prepared to work with all staff, students and parents and where necessary with external agencies to ensure that students receive first class pastoral support.
A key part of this role will be ensuring that pastoral data is accurate, well maintained and actively used to inform leaders. You will be expected to work proficiently within Arbor (MIS), producing regular attendance, behaviour and pastoral reports for Heads of Learning and senior leaders on a daily, weekly and termly basis.
This is a demanding role and is not for the faint hearted. You will need to have a “can do” attitude and be resilient, a quick learner, have high levels of emotional intelligence and be able to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders. Confidentiality is of the utmost importance in this role.
