About this role
The role
Are you passionate about transforming the lives of vulnerable young people? We are seeking an exceptional Pastoral Leader: SEMH to work with a cohort of students whose Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs are impacting their attendance, behaviour and engagement in learning. This exciting role has been created as part of a strategic investment in reducing lost learning and ensuring vulnerable learners can thrive in school.
You will be responsible for building strong relationships with students and families, coordinating pastoral support and delivering interventions that improve attendance, behaviour, wellbeing and engagement. Working as part of our Inclusion Team, you will play a crucial role in reducing lesson removals, internal truancy, reflection room placements and suspensions, ensuring students spend more time in lessons and achieve their full potential.
You will need significant experience of working with vulnerable young people, including experience of supporting students with SEMH needs, and behaviour and attendance intervention. You will also have a strong understanding of SEMH needs and barriers to learning, and will be capable of mentoring and supporting challenging learners.
If you are a skilled practitioner who believes every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, then we would love to hear from you.
