THE ROLE
We are seeking a qualified, passionate, highly organised, and experienced Part-Time SENCo to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to shape inclusive practice within a bilingual immersion context. You will work closely with pupils, parents, teachers, and external specialists to ensure every child with Special Educational Needs (SEND) thrives academically, socially, and linguistically.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and manage SEND provision across the school, ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice (0–25).
Identify and assess pupils with SEND, including those with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) within a dual-language setting.
Develop, implement, and review My Assessment, My Plans, My EHC Plan and individual support strategies.
Work collaboratively with class teachers to adapt immersive Mandarin and English content, ensuring accessibility without compromising bilingual exposure.
Build strong partnerships with parents.
Liaise with external agencies (SALT, EP, CAMHS, local authority).
Deliver tailored CPD to staff on inclusive strategies in immersion education.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Qualified SENCo (National Award for SEN Coordination or working towards it).
Proven experience supporting pupils with a range of needs (e.g., ASC, ADHD, Dyslexia, SLCN).
Understanding of, or strong interest in, bilingual/immersion education and how SEND presents differently across two languages. The requirement to speak Mandarin is not required.
