Part Time Music Teacher

Bishop Wordsworth's School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented Teacher of Music to join our thriving Music Department on a part-time (0.3 FTE) contract. This a fixed-term position to provide cover for a period of planned staff absence and is expected to run until 31 August 2027. The successful candidate will be able to teach Music at Key Stage 3 and will share our commitment to providing an outstanding musical experience for all pupils. A willingness to contribute to our extensive extracurricular music programme is essential. Music is at the heart of life at Bishop Wordsworth's School. From our acclaimed choirs and ensembles to concerts, competitions and international tours, pupils are encouraged to perform, create and develop a lifelong appreciation of music. Recent performances have taken place at Salisbury Cathedral, Wells Cathedral, Winchester Cathedral and St Paul's Cathedral. Most recently, the Bishop's Singers travelled to Symphony Hall for the final of the National Choir Competition. Music is also a central feature of the wider life of the school, with our annual House Music Festival providing opportunities for large numbers of pupils to perform and compete, fostering participation, creativity and house spirit across all year groups. The department enjoys a strong reputation within the school and wider community, with music playing a central role in school life, worship and major public events.
