Role Overview and Key Responsibilities:
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified Speech and Language Therapist to begin their career within a supportive, multi-disciplinary school environment. You will assess and deliver therapy to a diverse caseload of students aged 8–18 with speech, language and communication needs, working both independently and collaboratively with teaching staff to support access to learning. The position includes structured supervision, mentoring, and professional development to help you build confidence and clinical skills while working towards professional competencies. Responsibilities include planning and delivering interventions, evaluating outcomes, supporting colleagues, contributing to reports and reviews, and working alongside therapy assistants, all within a well-resourced and collaborative team focused on inclusive, evidence-based practice.
About the Department:
The role is based within the Learning Development Centre (LDC), a collaborative and supportive team comprising Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Literacy and Numeracy tutors, and Therapy Assistants. Staff benefit from regular supervision, CPD, and both formal and informal support, alongside strong links with universities and a growing national reputation.
