Night Support Worker - Young Adults

We are currently looking for a Night Support Worker in Meldreth (South Cambridgeshire / North Hertfordshire border Nr Royston), where our Aurora Orchard Manor offers a supportive living and learning environment for young adults with severe and profound learning difficulties and complex health needs. With specialist facilities and a focus on promoting independence, we support each of our young people through the transition from education into adulthood with a focus on person-centred programmes to promote independence. We work with people with multiple disabilities who may have sensory and physical impairments who benefit from our specialist facilities that have been designed to meet their needs. The Role: Provide the highest level of care for our young adults Assist with getting them ready for bed which includes washing and changing Encouraging a healthy sleeping pattern where possible Checking on them all throughout the night and dealing with any incidents that may occur Ensuring that medical needs are met at all times This is a waking night position; so in the quiet periods you will also be expected to get involved in some light housekeeping duties (such as loading the dishwasher, laundry and keeping the environment tidy). In the morning you'll then assist with supporting our young adults to get up, washed and dressed, ready for the day. The key to this role will be your ability to communicate effectively, build trusting relationships and provide the support required to enable our young adults to become more autonomous. Duties will vary, you must expect to diversify and lend a hand wherever is required.
