About this role
Multi-Lingual Learning Mentor
St. Francis’ College
Permanent Position
37.5 hours per week, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026
We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Multi-Lingual Learning Mentor to join the St. Francis’ International Study Centre and provide high-quality support to students for whom English is an Additional Language (EAL).
The successful candidate will work closely with the SENDCo and teaching staff to support the educational, social and emotional development of pupils, including those with additional learning needs and EHCPs. The role will focus primarily on supporting Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 students studying GCSE and A Level programmes, helping them to access the curriculum, develop academic English proficiency and achieve their full potential.
As part of our international student provision, the successful candidate will support students from a range of linguistic backgrounds. The ability to support Mandarin and/or Cantonese-speaking students would be advantageous; however, proficiency in either language is not essential and applications are welcomed from candidates with other language skills and relevant experience supporting EAL learners.
The Role
The Multi-Lingual Learning Mentor will play a key role in supporting EAL learners within the International Study Centre, helping students to access the curriculum, develop language skills and participate fully in school life.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing language support to EAL pupils both inside and outside the classroom.
Supporting predominantly Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 students studying GCSE and A Level subjects.
Delivering targeted intervention programmes under the guidance of the SENDCo and teaching staff.
Supporting the implementation of Individual Educational Programmes and other pupil-specific support plans.
Assisting students in developing academic English language proficiency and curriculum understanding across a range of GCSE and A Level subje
