The Golden Thread Alliance is seeking a flexible, ad-hoc Mobile Catering Assistant to work across Dartford and Gravesham schools. This casual role pays £13.56 per hour (£26,168 FTE) on Kent Scheme A – 2026.
You will need to be adaptable and flexible, and able to assist the Chef Manager with basic food preparation, serving pupils and staff, and of course washing up and keeping the kitchen clean, tidy and safe.
As a Golden Thread Catering Assistant, you will be an essential member of our catering team, performing a variety of tasks in a busy kitchen environment, and contributing to the smooth running of an excellent food service.
Reporting to the Chef Manager, you will play an essential part in ensuring our food service is the best that it can be, you will be working in our kitchens providing extra support and covering absence. You will need to be flexible and adaptable, and your duties will be varied, including basic food preparation, serving pupils and staff, and of course washing up and helping to keep the kitchen clean, tidy and safe.
As a very important member of our team, you will be expected to undertake training, which you will be paid for, and we will provide you with uniform.
Experience of working in a kitchen environment is desirable but not essential, and we welcome applicants seeking a better work life balance and greater flexibility.
