About this role

The Role: We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Mental Health Adviser to support learners with mental health concerns and wellbeing needs. Working closely with the Group Mental Health & Wellbeing Manager, you will provide guidance, advocacy and early intervention support, helping students access the services they need to succeed. You will play a key role in promoting mental health awareness, developing partnerships with external organisations, and creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide support, guidance and advocacy for learners experiencing mental health concerns and conditions. Operate a triage and referral service for students who are referred or self-refer to the Mental Health & Wellbeing team. Deliver mental health awareness training and workshops across college campuses. Build and maintain effective partnerships with external mental health agencies, community organisations and NHS services. Maintain accurate records, monitor interventions and evaluate the impact of support provided. Provide information, resources and signposting to students and staff on mental health and wellbeing matters. Track learner progress and provide targeted support to improve retention and achievement. Organise and support mental health awareness events and campaigns throughout the year. Keep up to date with developments in mental health support and share best practice across the organisation. Who You Are: Qualified in mental health or able to demonstrate substantial experience working within the mental health field. Experienced in supporting young people and adults with a range of mental health needs. Knowledgeable about safeguarding, child protection and mental health-related issues. A confident communicator with the ability to build positive relationships with learners, colleagues and external partners. Passionate about promoting wellbeing, inclusion and equal opportunities.
