Summary of role: As a special educational needs (SEN) teacher you'll work with children and young people who need extra support, or require an advanced programme of learning, in order to reach their full educational potential.
At Amegreen, you may work with a variety of Special Needs, ranging from, learning difficulties such as dyslexia, conditions such as autism, social, emotional and mental health needs, or have a combination of these difficulties.
You may also work with gifted and talented individuals who need to be challenged further than the standard curriculum allows.
A key aspect of working in this field is identifying individual needs and adapting to that particular student. Working towards Educational, Health Care Plans is key to progress.
As a teacher within Amegreen Education you will have a responsibility for creating a safe, stimulating and supportive learning environment.
LINE MANAGEMENT DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
You will be part of the Amegreen Education team and be line managed through Senior Management and by the Head Teacher.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Teach either individuals or small groups of pupils within, or outside, the class.
Delivering creative and engaging lessons
Adapting and differentiating the curriculum for individual needs
To contribute to the delivery and development of the curriculum, having regard to the educational, physical and social needs of the students within a learning environment.
To maintain and use short-, medium- and long-term plans in delivering the curriculum.
To set, monitor and review personalised targets that will optimise learning for each individual.
To contribute to the review of EHC plans, PEP and LAC reviews.
Prepare lessons and resources.
Mark and assess work.
