Teacher with responsibility to Lead Maths
30 hours per week | Up to £33,600 per annum DOE

The school:
Hidelow Grange School is a small Independent Special School based in Acton Beauchamp, Herefordshire. Our school provides specialist education to boys aged 11 to 18 years who have social, emotional and mental health needs.
With 7 students on roll and capacity of up to 20, our school offers a unique opportunity to shape provision for some of our most vulnerable learners. We pride ourselves on our integrated therapeutic ethos, holistic development, and unwavering focus on safeguarding.
Main Purpose of the Role:
Lead, develop, and deliver the GCSE Maths curriculum across the school, while teaching additional subjects as required.
Work with a diverse range of learners, including those significantly below age-related expectations, age-appropriate learners, and those with SEMH/trauma-informed needs.
What we’re looking for:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Experience teaching Maths at GCSE level (suitable for experienced or early career teachers).
Experience working with learners with diverse needs, including SEMH/trauma-informed backgrounds.
Experience in small-school settings (desirable).
Experience supporting colleagues in Maths across the curriculum (desirable).
Strong knowledge of the Maths National Curriculum and GCSE requirements.
Understanding of effective assessment, intervention, and differentiation strategies for diverse learners.
Ability to use GL Assessment and BKSB data, or willingness to learn.
Excellent classroom practice, with strong behaviour management skills.
Ability to plan and deliver engaging, accessible lessons for a variety of learning needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including with parents/carers and external professionals.
Ability to coordinate and lead a subject team.
Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities and procedures.
