Maintenance Assistant
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our dedicated Maintenance Team. This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, reliable, and motivated individual to support the smooth operation and upkeep of our school estate.
Working as part of the Buildings and Maintenance team, you will assist with a variety of maintenance tasks across the site, helping to ensure that our facilities remain safe, well-maintained, and fit for purpose.
Due to our rural location, reliable transport is essential.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
Respond to maintenance requests via the helpdesk as directed by the Maintenance Team Leader.
Carry out routine health and safety checks, including fire alarm testing and participation in the fire response team.
Support the maintenance team in keeping workshops and work areas clean, organised, and safe.
Complete all required training relating to health and safety, equipment use, and safeguarding.
Conduct pre-use equipment checks as required.
Undertake painting and general routine maintenance tasks across the site.
Drive and refuel school vehicles when necessary.
Collect materials and supplies from off-site suppliers.
Accompany contractors and visiting personnel as required.
Attend staff and operational meetings when necessary.
About You
We are looking for a dependable and proactive individual who has:
A full, clean driving licence.
The ability to read and follow written instructions.
Basic record-keeping skills.
A trustworthy and responsible approach to work.
Basic computer skills.
A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
