Level 1 Teaching Assistant (Fixed Term)

Primary Division Boys’ Junior School (7 - 11 Years) An opportunity has arisen for a qualified Level 1 Teaching Assistant to join the staff at the Boys’ Division Junior School on a fixed term basis, initially for one year, caring for the needs of our pupils alongside the teachers. The hours of work are 25 hours per week, 8.15am until 1.15pm, Monday to Friday, term time only. The successful candidate will be expected to support the class teacher delivering activities in line with the curriculum. The person appointed will assist in the preparation of teaching resources and provide feedback to pupils and the teacher, work with individuals or small groups under the supervision of the teacher, promote good behaviour and be able to communicate effectively to support pupils learning. Key attributes required of the successful candidate include: Level 1 in Childcare and Education or equivalent Experience of planning activities The ability to work in a team Strong communication skills A genuine enthusiasm to work with children The present Boys’ Junior School teaching staff consists of eleven full-time teachers, four part-time teachers and four teaching assistants.
