Lecturer SEND 0.8 FTE 1-Year Maternity Cover

The Role: We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Lecturer in SEND to deliver high-quality teaching and learning to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Working with learners aged 14-19 and adults across a range of programmes from Entry Level to Level 3, you will create an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment that enables every student to achieve their full potential. You will also play a key role in student support, curriculum development, and continuous improvement within the College. Key Responsibilities: Deliver engaging and effective teaching across a range of SEND programmes and levels. Act as a personal tutor, providing academic and pastoral support to learners. Develop student-centred learning strategies that promote retention, achievement, and progression. Prepare schemes of work, learning materials, and assessment activities tailored to individual learner needs. Support student recruitment, admissions, enrolment, induction, and progress monitoring. Work collaboratively with colleagues, employers, and external partners to enhance learning opportunities and outcomes. Maintain accurate course records and contribute to quality improvement and curriculum review activities. Uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion, health and safety, and data protection requirements. Who You Are: Qualified to degree level or equivalent, with a teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one. Experienced in teaching learners with learning difficulties and disabilities (LDD/SEND). Skilled in adapting teaching approaches and developing resources to meet a diverse range of learner needs. Passionate about inclusive education and committed to helping every learner succeed. A strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
