An exciting opportunity has arisen at Halesowen College for a Lecturer in Uniformed Public Services. In this role, you will deliver high-quality learning, teaching and assessment, providing an engaging and supportive experience for learners who are motivated to pursue careers within the public and uniformed services.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced individual, preferably a qualified teacher, to join our well-established and growing Public Services department from September 2026. The department delivers a broad and diverse curriculum, including Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Uniformed Public Services, alongside a specialist Level 3 Policing pathway, all supported by a committed and experienced team.
The successful candidate will primarily deliver across the Uniformed Public Services provision at Levels 1 to 3, with a particular focus on core public services units and applied learning linked to the uniformed services. There will also be a key emphasis on delivering Level 3 Policing units, supporting learners who are aspiring to careers in policing, criminal justice and related services.
The ideal candidate will bring relevant subject knowledge and vocational experience in public services, uniformed services or policing, with the ability to inspire, motivate and engage learners through both practical and theoretical delivery. A strong commitment to high standards, learner progression and inclusive teaching practice is essential. While the primary focus is Uniformed Public Services and Policing, the ability to contribute to enrichment activities, drills, fitness-based learning or employer engagement would be highly desirable.
