Lecturer in Foundation Studies

Due to growth in the department, we are seeking a Lecturer in Foundation Programmer to teach effectively on a range of programmes across the Division’s Curriculum. As a Lecturer in Foundation Studies, you will teach effectively across a range of programmes within the College Curriculum, delivering up to 832 hours per year. You will thoroughly plan and evaluate the effectiveness of your teaching, and accurately assess and monitor student work to assure high achievement and progression. Providing effective tutorial and pastoral support is central to the role, alongside contributing fully to college and divisional teams, sharing best practice, and being involved in developing the curriculum. The successful candidate will hold appropriate Assessor and Verifier qualifications such as A1/V1, or be prepared to gain these within 12 months. You will have knowledge of current issues in Further Education relating to the curriculum area, and specific knowledge of curriculum to support Foundation level students. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a record of high rates of student retention and achievement, with excellent teaching, communication and administrative skills. A commitment to ongoing professional development, the delivery of excellent teaching and support, and the College’s Single Equality Policy is essential. Experience of using technology in the classroom, a recognised teaching qualification, and a degree or equivalent are desirable. The salary for this post is up to £40,665.
