About this role

The Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Chemistry Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching across GCSE, Access to HE and BTEC programmes. You will inspire and support students to achieve their full potential through engaging, student-centred learning, while contributing to curriculum development, personal tutoring and the wider success of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding teaching across GCSE, Access to HE and BTEC programmes at all Levels.
  • Plan, prepare and assess learning activities that promote student achievement, retention and progression.
  • Providing academic guidance, pastoral support and progression advice, including UCAS and career guidance.
  • Develop and enhance curriculum content in line with awarding body requirements and industry needs.
  • Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate course records.
  • Contribute to student recruitment, enrolment, induction and course review activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, employers and external partners to support an outstanding learner experience.
  • Maintain compliance with safeguarding, equality and diversity, health and safety, and quality assurance requirements.

Who You Are:

  • Qualified to degree level in Chemistry or a closely related subject, with a recognised teaching qualification.
  • An exceptional classroom practitioner with a passion for teaching Science and inspiring learners.
  • Experienced in delivering engaging and innovative lessons, ideally across vocational science courses.
  • Student-focused, with the ability to motivate and support learners from diverse backgrounds.
  • A strong communicator who builds positive relationships with students, colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Committed to inclusion, safeguarding and creating a supportive learning environment.
  • Organised, collaborative and proactive, with the drive to contribute to continuous improvement and curriculum excellence.
