About this role

Salary: H3 Point 5 - 6 Closing Date: 6th July 2026 This is a role for someone who will provide day-to-day, targeted classroom and 1:1 support so students with special educational needs can access lessons, make measurable progress and develop independence. If you are calm, organised and experienced supporting pupils with SEN or EHCPs, you will find clear purpose here and join a committed LSA team working across whole-school provision from September 2026. What you'll be doing Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups in and out of lessons, including literacy and numeracy programmes. Implement strategies in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and monitor impact, feeding progress back to the SENCO and class teachers. Plan and prepare appropriate learning materials in coordination with subject teachers. Run one-to-one and small group sessions as part of personalised learning programmes. Build supportive relationships that encourage inclusion and positive behaviour. Contribute to HCP/EHCP reviews and attend relevant meetings, staff briefings and INSET. Undertake First Aid duties after training and participate in the school's First Aid rota. Promote safeguarding and welfare of pupils, maintain confidentiality and follow school policies. Carry out other reasonable duties within the scope of the role, including occasional out-of-hours work (e.g. meetings or events). What we're looking for Experience of working in a similar educational setting supporting pupils (classroom or intervention work). Ability to apply techniques to support learning and manage/modify behaviour positively. Strong written and oral communication skills and experience of working in a team. Educated to a good standard and willing to undertake First Aid training if not already qualified. Commitment to pupil safety, confidentiality, equality and the values of the school.
