Monday - Friday, 8.15am - 3.15pm (32.5 hours per week)

Cove School is looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious Learning Support Assistant, who will be a crucial part of a pupil's educational journey, helping them overcome challenges and reach their full potential. We require a dedicated individual who is passionate about providing the highest standards of care, support and education to our pupils. Someone with a can-do attitude and commitment to young people and the SEND team at Cove School.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Support for pupils
· Work with and support pupils who have additional needs within the ‘broad areas of need’ as outlined in the SEN code of practice 2015; Communication and Interaction, Cognition and Learning, Social, emotional and mental health difficulties and Sensory and/or physical needs.
· Help pupils to develop into independent learners to ensure they make good progress with their learning, as well as emotional well-being.
· Support pupils to access tasks and activities that they find challenging both inside the classroom.
2) Support for teachers
· Provide one-one or small group support to students with diverse learning needs.
· Assist in implementing lesson plans and adapting materials.
· Support and work with teacher in testing/assessment.
· In conjunction with teacher, liaise with parents and pupil progress.
