The Learning Support & Wellbeing Assistant is a valued member of Atelier 21's Inclusion Team, based primarily within The Haven, our specialist provision for learners with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
The Haven provides a nurturing, relationship-centred environment for learners who may experience barriers to education including anxiety, Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA), emotional regulation difficulties, trauma, mental health needs and neurodivergent profiles. At its heart, The Haven is a place where learners feel safe, understood and empowered to thrive both academically and personally.
The Learning Support & Wellbeing Assistant plays a key role in helping learners develop confidence, independence, resilience and a positive sense of self. Through strong relationships, high expectations and personalised support, the postholder will help learners access learning, engage positively in school life and achieve meaningful progress towards their academic and personal outcomes.
Whilst the post is primarily based within The Haven, the successful candidate must be willing to work flexibly across Atelier 21 according to the needs of learners. This may include providing dedicated 1:1 support for learners with EHCPs in mainstream classrooms and other learning environments across the school, implementing personalised support strategies and contributing to inclusive practice throughout the wider school community.The role may also involve supporting learners through planned home visits and dual-learning programmes where appropriate, working alongside families and the wider SEND team to promote successful engagement with education.
The successful candidate will combine excellent communication skills, strong literacy and numeracy skills, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
