Learning Manager – Pastoral/Behaviour Location: Hertfordshire Contract Type: Permanent Salary: H5 Point 9 - 14 Closing Date: 31st August 2026 This is a role for someone who will reduce low-level and challenging behaviour, support vulnerable students (particularly those with SEND and those eligible for pupil premium), and help shape consistent, restorative practice across a smaller-than-average 11–16 school. You will work day-to-day with pupils, parents and staff to keep students learning and to ensure smooth reintegration after suspensions. About this role / why this role matters You will lead on implementation of the school Behaviour Policy and coordinate the Behaviour Facilities, using behaviour data to design targeted interventions. The role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in school pastoral or support roles who can de-escalate, mentor, and coach others in consistent behaviour practice. Your work will directly improve classroom climate and student outcomes at Goffs-Churchgate Academy. What you'll be doing Lead consistent implementation of the Behaviour Policy across staff and students. Manage the Behaviour Facilities (curriculum, staffing, routines) and contribute to improving systems and structures. Track, monitor and analyse behaviour data to identify trends and support targeted interventions with SLT. Work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils who display challenging behaviour; deliver and monitor intervention plans. Support reintegration after suspension to ensure pupils return successfully to mainstream lessons. Coach and support staff with behaviour management strategies and provide training to promote consistent practice. Communicate daily with parents, lead meetings and build collaborative relationships to support behaviour improvement.
