About this role
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Pre Nursery Lead Teacher to lead our youngest learners (ages approx. 1.5–3 years). The successful candidate will model best practice in early childhood education, support team members, and ensure high-quality teaching, care, and wellbeing for all children.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and deliver high-quality EYFS provision for Pre Nursery children
Create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing learning environment
Plan, assess, and adapt learning experiences appropriate for very young children
Support children’s emotional regulation, independence, and early social skills
Implement positive discipline strategies consistently
Guide and support teaching assistants and co-teachers
Monitor children’s development and maintain accurate observations and records
Build strong partnerships with parents through daily communication and meetings
Ensure health, safety, and safeguarding procedures are followed at all times
Contribute to school events, staff meetings, and professional development
Essential
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
Recognised teaching qualification (EYFS knowledge essential)
Minimum 2 years’ experience teaching children aged 1–3 years
Strong understanding of child development and play-based learning
Excellent classroom management using positive discipline approaches
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to lead, mentor, and work collaboratively with staff
