About this role
Shrewsbury School is seeking a Lead School Nurse to lead and support the Health Centre in providing high-quality, evidence-based care for pupils. This role combines hands-on clinical practice with the opportunity to shape and develop the service, ensuring effective systems, strong clinical standards and a positive, collaborative team environment.
The role will report to, and work closely with, the Deputy Head (Pastoral), ensuring that the delivery of medical care is co-ordinated with the overall delivery of pastoral care across the School. The role is focused on holistic pupil care and does not involve acute clinical caseloads.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated, proactive and an experienced leader with a passion for delivering outstanding care. You will have proven team management or supervisory skills, a strong understanding of clinical governance and safeguarding, experience of working with young people, excellent communication, organisational and decision-making abilities.
This role offers the opportunity to combine a rewarding nursing career with an excellent work-life balance. Working during term time means you benefit from independent school holiday periods which are usually longer than maintained sector patterns providing meaningful time away from work over the year. This post offers an exciting opportunity to join a unique family of schools providing world class education.
