Bloom World Academy is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Lab Technician to join our team for Academic Year 2026/2027.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality practical science education across the school. Working closely with teaching staff, you will be responsible for preparing, maintaining and organising laboratories, equipment and resources, ensuring that practical lessons are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
As a member of the Bloom World Academy community, you will demonstrate a commitment to supporting student learning through the provision of an organised, safe and engaging laboratory environment. You will possess excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, work collaboratively with colleagues across the Science department, and maintain the highest standards of health and safety.
We are looking for an experienced and proactive individual who is passionate about science education and enjoys working in a dynamic school environment. The successful candidate will have experience preparing practical experiments, managing laboratory inventories, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations. You will be able to work independently, prioritise effectively, and respond flexibly to the needs of a busy department.
Experience working within an IB or international school environment is highly desirable, although not essential. As a practitioner, you should have a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, chemical handling, equipment maintenance, risk assessments, and best practices for supporting practical science teaching.
