About this role
Bromley High School is seeking a qualified, energetic and committed SEND Co-ordinator to play a key role in our Junior School leadership team.
You will be responsible for the strategic development and coordination of SEND provision across the Junior School, fostering a culture of celebration that promotes pride, inclusion and belonging for pupils with additional learning needs. You will oversee screening and assessment processes, working closely with parents and external agencies to monitor and support the progress of pupils with SEND or additional learning needs.
While the role includes some specialist one-to-one, small group and classroom support, the emphasis is on empowering all staff to deliver inclusive and proactive teaching for every pupil. Supporting and training teachers and support staff in this area will therefore be a central aspect of the role. There is also an expectation of some class teaching, which may take place in either the Junior or Senior School depending on your areas of specialism.
In addition to this, you will play a leading role in safeguarding across the school as part of the wider safeguarding team, acting as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
About you:
You will be a positive, professional and enthusiastic individual with a high level of personal drive and a strong commitment to girls’ education. You will hold a relevant degree and teaching qualification, as well as the National SENCO Award or SENDCo NPQ. You will have previous experience of working with EAL pupils, teaching across a range of ages and abilities, and applying adaptive teaching strategies to support pupils with SEND. Strong expertise in best practice in SEND teaching and learning is also essential.
