MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop and implement an engaging and age-appropriate IT and Computing curriculum that introduces pupils to technology in a balanced and thoughtful way.
· Teach key computing concepts including computational thinking, problem solving, digital literacy, and online safety, with a mindful approach to screen time.
· Deliver lessons that combine practical, unplugged computing activities with appropriate use of digital tools to help pupils understand how technology works.
· Encourage pupils to develop logical thinking, creativity, and curiosity about technology through hands-on exploration and problem-solving.
· Promote digital wellbeing, helping pupils develop healthy habits around technology use and understand the importance of balance between digital and offline activities.
· Introduce pupils to age-appropriate AI awareness, helping them understand how emerging technologies influence the world around them.
· Support pupils in understanding the responsible and safe use of technology and the importance of positive digital citizenship.
· Work collaboratively with colleagues to integrate computing, digital awareness, and technology-supported learning across the wider curriculum where appropriate.
· Maintain a supportive and inclusive learning environment that supports all pupils.
