About Kelem International School (KIS) Kelem International School (KIS), formerly the Swedish Community School, is a Pre-KG to Grade 10 institution with a rich 79-year history as a Scandinavian school in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. In 2019, it transitioned into an independent, not-for-profit international school. Today, KIS hosts a diverse student body of 200 students representing 28 nationalities, utilizing the Finnish curriculum blended with international best practices and the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC).
The Role We are seeking an inspiring International School Principal to manage our academic leadership and daily operations. Accountable to the School Board, the Principal will develop programs aligned with our mission, facilitate staff professional growth, ensure financial viability, and cultivate a safe, collaborative center of learning.
Key Job Specifications:
Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and a valid educational license (preferably international).
Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience, with at least 5 years in a school leadership role (preferably in an international setting utilizing European or American curricula).
Deep knowledge of curriculum development, instructional practices, student learning styles, and innovative assessment.
Fluency in English (native speaker level preferred). Finnish nationality/experience is a plus.
Strong collaborative management style with a commitment to continuous improvement.
