About this role

We are seeking to appoint a driven, proactive and conscientious Industry and Work Placement Officer to join South Bank University Sixth Form. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing high-quality, meaningful industry placements that support students to build the skills, confidence and experience needed for their future careers. The successful candidate will establish and maintain strong relationships with employers, local businesses and external partners to build capacity for students to undertake placements linked to their programme of study. Working closely with T Level leads, curriculum teams and student services, the postholder will match students to employers, ensure placements are safe and accessible, and support students to complete the required placement hours. This role is ideally suited to someone who is passionate about working with young people and understands the powerful impact that high-quality employer engagement and work placements can have on students’ aspirations, progression and future success. We are looking to appoint someone who: · has a passion for working with young people and the impact this can have on their lives. · has a range of high-quality organisational skills and a commitment to continually strive to improve and develop these skills. · has imagination and can take the initiative in developing ideas. · has highly developed interpersonal skills and can develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, employers and external partners. · can build professional links with local businesses, employers and job brokerage services. · can effectively match students to employers, taking into account industry standards, student needs and programme requirements. · is confident maintaining accurate records, databases and monitoring systems. · understands the importance of safeguarding, health and safety, equality, diversity and inclusion in relation to student placements.
