As we continue to develop our British section in line with British Schools Overseas (BSO) standards, we are seeking an outstanding and committed Science Teacher (Chemistry & Physics) to join our Secondary team.
The Role
We are looking for a skilled and passionate teacher to deliver Chemistry and Physics across Key Stage 4 (IGCSE) and, ideally, Key Stage 5 (A Level). The successful candidate will inspire curiosity, develop strong analytical and practical skills, and support students in achieving high academic outcomes.
You will be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking Science department committed to high-quality teaching, strong pastoral care, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the UK National Curriculum, IGCSE and A Level specifications
Teach both Chemistry and Physics, including practical and theoretical components
Use a range of assessment strategies to monitor progress and inform teaching
Differentiate effectively to meet the needs of all learners, including EAL students
Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning
Maintain high expectations of behaviour in line with school values
Support students’ academic and personal development within a strong pastoral framework
Engage positively with parents and the wider school community
Person Specification
Essential:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Physics, or a related Science discipline
Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent)
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Minimum 2 years’ experience teaching Science in a secondary setting
Experience teaching IGCSE Chemistry and/or Physics
