IB PYP Homeroom Teacher (Founding Team)

We are seeking IB PYP Homeroom Teachers to join our founding team as we launch the Primary Years Programme (PYP), offering the opportunity to help shape the classroom experience and contribute to the school’s growth from its early stages. Position: PYP Homeroom Teacher Location: Tirana, Albania Position Type: Full-time Job OverviewThe IB PYP Homeroom Teacher will play a key role in the development and delivery of the Primary Years Programme at Tirana American International School (TAIS). As part of the founding team, the successful candidate will contribute to building a strong, inquiry-based learning environment aligned with IB philosophy. TAIS is being developed as a new eco-campus concept in Albania, offering an innovative learning environment that connects education with nature, sustainability, and modern international practices. Working closely with the PYP Coordinator and school leadership, the teacher will support the implementation of the programme during the candidacy phase, contributing to the development of Units of Inquiry, collaborative planning, and a positive, student-centered classroom culture. Qualification & Experience Requirements• A qualified teacher with experience in primary education • Experience with or strong interest in the IB PYP • Understanding of inquiry-based and student-centered learning • Strong classroom management and communication skills • International school experience is an advantage Key Responsibilities• Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons • Contribute to the development of Units of Inquiry • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs • Collaborate with colleagues and actively contribute to the school community • Support student development through effective assessment and communication • Engage in ongoing professional learning and contribute to a reflective team culture
