About this role
Position OverviewThe IB Mathematics Teacher is responsible for delivering rigorous, concept-driven instruction in IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches (AA) and Applications and Interpretation (AI) at both Higher Level (HL) and Standard Level (SL), as well as MYP Extended Mathematics. The teacher guides students through inquiry-based learning, fosters mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills, and prepares them for internal assessments (IAs), extended essays (EEs), and final examinations. In addition, the teacher supports high-achieving students in international mathematics competitions and university entrance tests (e.g., MAT, TMUA, STEP).
Key ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Curriculum Delivery
· Deliver IB MYP Extended Mathematics and DP Mathematics (AA HL/SL, AI HL/SL) aligned with IB goals.
· Design inquiry-based, concept-rich learning experiences developing reasoning, modeling, and critical thinking.
· Supervise and guide students through IAs and EEs in mathematics, providing structured IB-aligned feedback.
Assessment & Student Development
· Develop formative and summative assessments consistent with IB rubrics.
· Monitor progress, provide timely feedback, and plan targeted interventions.
· Maintain accurate records and prepare reports in line with school and IB expectations.
Competition & University Admission Support
· Prepare high-achieving students for international competitions (AMC 12, AIME, Euclid, BMO).
· Provide structured training for university admission tests (MAT, TMUA, STEP).
· Design enrichment sessions and problem-solving workshops beyond the standard curriculum.
Student Support & Enrichment
· Offer office hours, individualized conferencing, and academic support.
· Foster a growth mindset and intellectual curiosity through appropriate challenge.
Collaboration & Professional Duties
· Collaborate with IB leadership, DP/MYP coordinators, counselors, and mathematics department colleagues.
· Attend department meetings, follow grading policies
