About this role

HR Assistant Full Time: 37.5 hours per week Grade C (£26,400–£28,200 per annum, dependent on experience) Cheltenham College is seeking a friendly, professional and highly organised HR Assistant to join our well-established HR and Payroll Team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the recruitment and onboarding of staff in a role which offers plenty of variety on a day-to-day basis. At the same time, you will ensure our recruitment, onboarding and safeguarding compliance processes are carried out accurately and efficiently whilst maintaining the highest standards. The Role Working closely with the Recruitment Manager and the wider HR & Payroll Team, you will support all aspects of the recruitment process, from advertising vacancies and helping to coordinate interviews to completing pre-employment checks and onboarding new colleagues. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting recruitment campaigns by advertising vacancies, processing applications and responding to candidate enquiries. Welcoming candidates on interview days, helping them feel relaxed and supported throughout the process. Completing pre-employment and safeguarding checks in line with Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) requirements. Supporting managers with induction and probation processes to ensure new colleagues receive an excellent welcome to the College. Providing professional administrative support to the wider HR Team and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. As your experience grows, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of recruitment for a range of support staff roles, managing the process from advertisement through to appointment. About You We are looking for someone who combines excellent administrative skills with a warm, approachable manner. You will have: Excellent organisational and administration skills with exceptional attention to detail. Strong IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft Excel.
