About this role
We are looking for a highly organised, approachable and proactive HR Advisor to join our busy and supportive HR team on a fixed-term basis for up to 12 months to cover maternity leave. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative and communication skills looking to take their first step into HR or an existing HR or recruitment administrator seeking broader experience and career development.
A key focus of the role will be managing and coordinating the College’s recruitment and selection process, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for candidates and hiring managers. You will be responsible for preparing job adverts, running interview days, drafting offer letters and carrying out all pre-employment and safeguarding checks in line with statutory requirements, as well as providing advice and guidance to managers on safer recruitment practices.
Alongside recruitment, there will be the opportunity to support the wider HR team with a variety of activities, giving you exposure to all areas of the employee lifecycle and the opportunity to build valuable generalist HR experience. To be successful, you will be highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable handling confidential information with accuracy and discretion. You will have excellent written communication skills, strong IT capabilities and the ability to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines. A positive, flexible and solution-focused approach is essential.
You will work closely with colleagues across the College and use a range of digital systems and software packages. Full training will be provided, but you should be confident using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and be keen to learn new systems and technologies.
