About this role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated HLTA to support the learning of our SEND students and specialising in supporting numeracy, both in and out of the classroom. The primary focus is to carry out specified work with individuals, groups and whole classes under the direction and supervision of a qualified teacher particularly to support and develop students' numeracy skills.
The role is for 31.25 hours per week for 39 weeks per year.
Students supported by the SEND department demonstrate a wide range of learning difficulties. Caldew is a resourced provision for students with autism; we have students with SEMH needs as well as speech, language and communication and cognition and learning. You will be working across the range, from pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan with specific or severe learning difficulties to pupils with minor or temporary access difficulties. You may work extensively on a one-to-one/small group basis or within a class room setting. You may work as part of a multi-agency team as well as closely with family and carers.
