Location: The Westwood Academy (and Trust sites)
Salary: Grade 4, Points 6-14
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week, Term Time Only + 5 days

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our Enhanced Resource Provision (ERP) at The Westwood Academy.

This provision, opening in September 2026, has been redesigned to offer a calm, supportive and nurturing environment for students whose primary need is cognition and learning. You will play a vital role in helping students access a personalised curriculum and reach their full potential.

About the Role

In this pivotal position, you will:

  • Work collaboratively with the ERP Lead Teacher, SENDCo and teaching staff to plan, deliver and evaluate high-quality learning for students with EHCPs
  • Deliver targeted interventions to individuals, small groups and whole classes
  • Support students in the ERP while promoting inclusion within mainstream lessons
  • Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress
  • Provide support for pupils’ educational, social, emotional and physical needs, helping them develop independence
  • Build effective relationships with staff, parents/carers and external professionals

About you

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational setting
  • Has knowledge of SEND and inclusive practice
  • Is confident delivering learning activities and supporting a range of needs
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is organised, proactive and able to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Holds GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
