Aurora Charnwood School is opening its doors in late 2026 (tbc) and will be a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious hub for children and young people aged 5–19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Communication and Interaction. With a capacity of 120 students across 3 sites, our vision is to create a safe, enriching and aspirational environment where every learner can thrive.

Main Purpose of the Role:
Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils according to the school's policies, including safeguarding and PREVENT.
Support the day to day running of classes across the school and take the lead in the absence of a class teacher.
Select and adapt appropriate resources/methods to facilitate agreed learning activities
Reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.
Assess, record and report on development, progress and attainment
Participate in the planning and evaluation of learning activities.
Be a role model for new staff, supervising and guiding less experienced TAs.
Further professional development by engaging in reflective practices and continuous professional development and appraisal, including attending all statutory training provided by the school.
Contribute to the community life of the school by taking an active part in the preparation and celebration of both community and multi-cultural events.
Respond to the varying and changing needs of the school and undertake duties and tasks to the highest ability in order to achieve the smooth running of the school.
