We are looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic and creative Health & Social Care Teacher to join our dedicated team at our small independent SEN sixth form.
This is a unique opportunity to shape an engaging Level 1 Introduction to Health and Social Care programme while supporting students to develop the confidence, independence and life skills they need for adulthood.
You’ll also have the opportunity to deliver Functional Skills in English, Mathematics and/or ICT, embedding these into practical, meaningful learning experiences that prepare students for further education, volunteering and employment.
About the RoleThis is far more than a teaching role.
You’ll be supporting young people with a range of additional needs to develop confidence, communication and independence through both classroom learning and real-life experiences.
Working closely with colleagues, families and community partners, you will help students explore the world around them through activities such as:
Community cafés
Local social and charity events
Care homes
Childcare and early years settings
Volunteering opportunities
Community projects and educational visits
These experiences help our students develop essential social communication skills, workplace awareness, confidence and a genuine sense of belonging within their local community.
We’re Looking For Someone Who:Has experience teaching and supporting learners with Special Educational Needs.
Has a qualification or experience in Health and Social Care or a related vocational area.
Can deliver engaging and accessible lesson
