Long Road Sixth Form College is a thriving, successful post-16 Sixth Form College with 2,600 students on roll across a variety of studies. Conveniently located close to the M11 and A14, the college is set next to the Biomedical Campus in its own attractive grounds in the beautiful and expanding city of Cambridge. Long Road was judged by OFSTED to be Good or Outstanding in all five categories at its most recent inspection in February 2025.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective health, safety, and environmental policies to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards. You will investigate workplace incidents and near misses and report accordingly, providing safety induction to new employees, acting as the point of contact for the Fire Service, and maintaining updated evacuation procedures.
As our ideal candidate, you will have a minimum of three years’ experience in a health and safety role, strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, and a relevant qualification such as NEBOSH or OSHA. You will be confident and willing to lead by example, being hands-on as required. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to risk management are essential to successfully perform in this role.
A good standard of general fitness is required due to the layout and design of buildings, which requires significant walking and climbing of stairs.
