ROLE SUMMARY
Geneva English School is a well-established international school located just outside Geneva, on the stunning shores of Lake Léman. We are seeking an outstanding Head of Secondary School Music to join the school from the next academic year. The successful candidate will inspire a love of music across all age groups, delivering high-quality teaching and contributing to the rich co-curricular life of the school.
The successful candidate will play a key role in further developing a vibrant and inclusive music programme, ensuring that students are encouraged to perform, create, and develop their musical talents with confidence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver engaging and differentiated Music lessons across Secondary phases.
Foster creativity, performance skills, and musical literacy in students of all abilities.
Prepare students for performances, concerts, and school productions.
Lead and contribute to ensembles, choirs, instrumental groups, and other co-curricular activities.
Support students preparing for external music examinations (e.g. GCSE, A-Level or equivalent, where applicable).
Maintain high standards of classroom management and student engagement.
Contribute to curriculum development in alignment with the school’s vision and values.
Monitor, assess, and report on student progress in line with school policies.
Build positive and professional relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Contribute actively to the wider life of the school community.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE preferred) and relevant academic degree in Music or a related field;
